05/17: Tour of The Memphis Zoo

Join cityCURRENT for a behind-the-scenes tour of The Memphis Zoo on May 17, from 10:00-11:30 AM, where we’ll learn the history of the zoo, get a sneak peek of upcoming projects, and have a few opportunities for up-close encounters with some of the animals. We’ll also learn about their conservation initiatives and their important work preserving our planet’s biodiversity.
About The Memphis Zoo:
Memphis Zoo is home to more than 3,500 animals representing 500 species.
Today, the Memphis Zoo is one of Memphis’ highest attended attractions and in 2019 voted as one of the Top 10 Zoos in the country. The Zoo’s conservation programs circle the globe – from cooperative programs in China for giant pandas to local efforts to save the Louisiana pine snake. Our Team and Volunteers are dedicated to providing an enriching sanctuary for our animals, as well as a friendly and educational experience for our guests. Together, we are building one of the world’s great zoos.
