VISTA Mentor and Program Data Analyst

The VISTA Mentor & Program Data Analyst supports mentoring and student education programming within the NBES program department by supporting data collection and analysis efforts. NBE is currently working to review and prioritize its data collection efforts and to become more data-driven. After the review is complete NBE will use that data to drive program enhancements as well as philanthropic support and grant applications.

JOB DUTIES:

Train and become competent in managing our student data collection processes and databases.
• Train in Go Motion and Innovative Mentoring software programs, and learn to input data and pull reports as needed from these tools.
• Become with familiar with the NBE “Stat Tracker” and begin to input data into that form and pull data reports from it.
• Work with all program staff, including attending staff meetings, to identify and track certain data points and data trends that we should be aware of, which could lead to recommendations to adjust programming.
Managing NBE data base systems and take ownership of data collection and analysis processes.

• Work with operational staff to pull reports needed for presentations, grant applications and other request that communicate who we are.
• Learn to understand through data more about our students, their educational and career plans and how NBE can best support them during the time they spend with us.
• Lead and support efforts to poll students, while targeting specific data points as revealed by the program team and the operations team.
Advance NBE’s data collections and analysis program, going deeper into understanding more about our students and their dreams and plans for their futures.
• Learn to understand through data more about our students, their educational and career plans and how NBE can best support them during the time they spend with us.
• Lead and support efforts to poll students, while targeting specific data points as revealed by the program team and the operations team.
• Develop new ideas about to learn more about our students including advising the program team about new systems and solutions for doing so.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in social work, psychology, volunteer management, and/or education

• Two or more years of experience in mentoring and youth development, working within community organizations and/or schools preferred
• Ability to learn and understand all quality based mentoring program policies and procedures
• Extremely strong organizational, writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Creativity and flexibility are essential in assuming significant responsibility

• Experience working in racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse urban communities preferred
• Spanish speaking/writing strongly preferred
