Memphis Youth Athletics – Teaching Kids the Importance of Being Active & Healthy Habits

Nick Dwyer is a former high school coach who wanted to affect change on a mass scale. As the president of Memphis Youth Athletics, he is now working to reach and teach kids the importance of being active, healthy habits, and providing an outlet for them through running and athletics.

The coronavirus is keeping them from meeting in person, but it has not stopped them from connecting with their kids. Memphis Youth Athletics is posting regular at-home workouts and challenges for free.

Nick also gathered world-class runners like Craig Engels @craigathor, who runs for Nike; Memphian, Lauren Paquette @hotpaquettes, a pro runner for @NAZ_Elite; Bryce Hoppel @BryceHoppel, who competed in the world championships and now runs professionally for Adidas; and Eric Avila @AvilaEricc, who finished runner-up at the 2019 USA Indoor 2 Mile Championship. These pros recorded interviews through Zoom to help motivate and encourage the kids from Memphis Youth Athletics to continue to persevere through these difficult times.
